Grief For Mustafa ﷺ Was The Cause Of Siddiq Al-Akbar’s Passing

سُبْحٰنَ اللہ عَزَّوَجَلَّ! The Leader of the Believers, Abu Bakr Siddiq رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ possessed such a great treasure of perfect and unrivaled love for the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم! The condition in which he رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ spent his days and nights perfectly shows his great love for the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم.

After the apparent passing of the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم, his life was overcome with grief. He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ found it extremely difficult to spend the days and nights of the remainder of his life (approximately 2 years and 7 months) without the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم and he رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ would remain sorrowful in remembrance of the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم. Sayyiduna Imam Jalal Uddin Suyuti ash Shafi’I narrated that Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Ibn-e-‘Umar رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ has stated, ‘The actual cause of the passing away of Sayyiduna Siddiq Al-Akbar رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was the apparent passing of the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم. Because of the shock and sorrow of this, his body would quiver and it was as a result of this that he رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ passed away.’

Mar hi jaun mayn agar is dar say jaun do qadam

Kiya bachay bimar-e-gham qurb-e-masi7a chor kar

I would die if I left this court by the distance of even two steps

How can the patient of love survive away from the closeness of

his Beloved?
