It is reported by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ that the Knower of the Unseen, the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Nobody’s wealth has given me as much benefit as the wealth of Abu Bakr رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ’. Upon hearing, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ began to cry and said, ‘O Prophet of Allah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم! After all, you are the owner of me and my wealth.’
(Sunan Ibn-e-Majah, Vol. 1, p. 72, Hadis 94)
My dear Islamic brothers! Through this blessed narration, we learn that it was the ‘Aqidah [belief] of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ that we are the slaves of the Holy Prophet, and the owner of all of the wealth and belongings of a slave is his master. What even belongs to us mere slaves?
Kya paysh karayn jana kya chiz hamari hay
Yeh dil bhi tumhara hay yeh jan bhi tumhari hay
What can we present, O Beloved? What belongs to us?
Even this heart is Yours! Even this life is Yours!
