It is stated on page
509 of volume 28 of Fatawa Razawiyyah that the Leader of the Believers,
Sayyiduna Siddiq Al-Akbar رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ bought seven slaves and then freed
them. All of these slaves had been oppressed in the path of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. The following verse was revealed about
him:
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى ﴿١٧﴾
But the most pious one shall be kept far away from it [the
hellfire].
[Kanz-ul-Iman
(Translation of Quran)] (Part 30, Surah Lail, Verse 17)
On page
512 it is written with reference to Imam Fakhruddin Razi رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ that there is an Ijma’
[consensus] of all of the Sunni Mufassirin [commentators on the Quran] that the
word ‘Atqa’ in this verse refers to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq
رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ. (Fatawa Razawiyyah)
