Valentine’s Day & Hadith - 01

1. It is stated in Mishkat-ul-Masabih:

وعن الحسن مرسلًا قال: بلغنی أنّ رسول صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٰ وَسَلَّم قل: لعن اللہ الناظروالمنظور الیہ رواہ النیھقی فی شعب الایمان۔

i.e. ‘a Mursal Hadees is narrated from Hadrat Hassan Basri رَحْمَۃُاللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ. He states that I received the following news that Holy Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٰ وَسَلَّم stated: ‘The one who gazes and the one who is gazed upon, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ curses them both’. (i.e. the one who gazes intentionally without a valid reason, and the one being gazed intentionally without a valid reason).
