Salah
was practiced in some form or the other throughout history by all Prophets عَلَیْھِمُ الصَّلٰوۃُوَالسَّلَام and their followers as an essential
part of Almighty Allah’s عَزَّوَجَلَّ religion. Islam, the final message to
humanity, considers prayer as crucial. A Muslim is required to pray five times
daily within specified periods, as taught by the beloved Prophet Muhammad
These prayers are obligatory,
and form a direct bond between the worshiper and his Creator. Islam does not
call upon Muslims to merely perform this act of worship; rather; it wants them
to purify their souls. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ the Most High says, regarding prayer:
O dear Prophet (Muhammad
وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّم), recite form the Book which has
been sent down to you, and establish the prayer; indeed the prayer stops from
indecency and evil; and indeed the remembrance of Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) is the
greatest; and Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) knows all what you do. [Ankabut 29:45]
